I got back on Monday from what was a fantastic weekend.  I got into L.A. on Thursday night.  After a rather long ride around Burbank to Benedict Canyon to Hollywood and finally to West Hollywood I got checked into the hotel. I went out and immediately headed to Hamburger Haven and from there went to Mickey’s for awhile.  I think what struck me the most is how much more mixed the bar is now.  There was even a female go-go dancer (and she was hottt).  Friday I had brunch with some friends at the Abbey and then went off on my own to explore and take pics.  I headed to Gold Coast Friday night and had a great time.  I ended up down in Manhattan Beach with a new friend.  Saturday morning, We went for a walk on the beach and out onto the Pier with a nice long drive up to Santa Monica and then out the 405 out to Mullholland Drive to Hollywood and then my friend dropped me off at the hotel.  Saturday was pretty laid back, I went out for dinner and went to the Festival.  I caught Berlin and Joan Jett which was pretty good and then it was off to bed for me.  Sunday was the parade and I met up with Barb and some other folks.  The Parade was fun.  Off to Gold Coast were I bumped into some folks I had seen in almost 10 years.  It was really fun bumping into so many people that I use to hangout with.  My friend from Friday night called and we went off to the Eagle, which I didn’t enjoy and then to Faultline which I enjoyed a lot.  Monday came way to quickly.  Fortunately the flight back was mostly smooth and well here I am again back in the day to day routine.  I’m really glad that I went.  I made some new friends met some old ones, got some great pics and just overall had a fantastic time.  I’m looking forward to heading back down again soon.  I think next time I’ll rent a car though.  It would so be worth the extra for parking at the hotel.
