An exasperated mother, whose son was always getting into mischief, finally asked him “How do you expect to get into Heaven?”
The boy thought it over and said,
“Well, I’ll run in and out and in and out and keep slamming the door until St. Peter says, ‘For Heaven’s sake, Dylan, come in or stay out!'”
“On these and a whole host of values, John Kerry’s votes and statements over the decades that he’s been in office put him on the left, out of the mainstream and out of touch with the conservative values of the heartland.”
The Kerry campaign was quick to respond. “Considering that Dick Cheney got five deferments from the military to avoid combat, he’s the last person who should be attacking Vietnam veteran John Kerry’s commitment to the flag,” said spokesman Phil Singer.
Yesterday was such a restful day for me. I have off on Fridays and just seemed to sleep like a baby Thursday night and last night for that matter. It might be because everything is coing into line again financially. Everyone is mostly caught up, everything is insured, and things are looking good. I was going to go to Pullman this weekend but decided to wait until the weekend of the 24th, Mike will try to get it off and then we will both drive out.
Mike did a really good job of straightening out and cleaning the porch, it looks like a new porch. Mr. Squirrel has a new bag of peanuts and the birds have a full feeder of seed. I really like feeding the birds, as I can watch them from my computer, which looks out towards downtown Seattle. The problem with the birds is that they leave the seed shells and they are a pain in the butt to cleanup.
Mr. Winky got a bath this morning, his eye isn’t looking so good and his breathing is becoming decidely more raspy. He is our oldest rattie (almost 2 1/2) now. He has become much more friendly now that he is getting older. I’ll take him out and he’ll just sit in my lap and chitter away (chittering is when a rat grinds the teeth together, its like purring but for rats). I’m just going to relax all weekend. Oh yeah the other good thing that came about this week. I had taken the car in to the shop a week ago (on the 25th of June) it has been having problems with starting up. Well as it turns out it was the relay for the gas pump and ignition. It was covered under warranty and so I didn’t have to pay a cent, happy me. They replaced both parts.
Time for some more coffee.
